Joe Armstrong is the Vice‐President & General Manager for CAE Canada, and responsible for leading CAE’s Defence & Security business in this region. His portfolio spans a range of key programs including Software & Systems Engineering support to the Cf‐18 fleet, the operations of the Air Mobility Training Center supporting the C130H & J fleets in CFB Trenton, the MHLH Training Center in Petawawa, and The NATO Flying Training Center in Moose Jaw and Cold Lake.
He has a team of over 750 employees situated across 13 sites in Canada, many of whom are directly supporting and embedded with military units and operations across the country. Joe has had a distinguished tenure with CAE for over 15 years in roles ranging from leading Research & Development, Engineering, and business operations. Since the inception of his career, Joe has directly supported defence and security organizations across the globe, and was awarded the NATO Scientific Achievement Award in 2008 for his work in supporting the advancement of modelling & simulation across NATO.
Joe lives in Ottawa with his daughter, and when time permits is still an avid martial arts practitioner and a world certified Tae Kwon Do instructor.
