Lee Obst

Lee joined Rockwell Collins in 2000 as a Program Manager in the Government Systems Airborne Solutions portfolio and shortly afterwards transitioned in to a business development role. Since 2000, Lee has held a variety of business development leadership roles, in the Airborne Solutions portfolio with increasing responsibilities. In 2010 Lee was appointed as the Senior Director, Marketing for Rockwell Collins Government Systems.

In 2011, Lee was appointed as the President and Managing Director, of Rockwell Collins Canada Inc based in Ottawa, Ontario. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the Canadian operations and production facilities in Ottawa and providing shared services for the Montreal operations. In November 2018, Rockwell Collins was acquired by UTC Aerospace Systems and became Collins Aerospace. Lee has continued in his current role as the Managing Director for Collins Aerospace Mission Systems in Ottawa as well as the acting lead for Collins Government and Global Affairs in Canada.

In addition to his company duties, Lee is also on the Board of Directors for the Aerospace Industries Association Canada. He is an active participant serving on the Finance and Audit Committee, and as the Chair of the AIAC Innovation and Technology standing committee.

Prior to joining Rockwell Collins, Lee served for 21 years as a test pilot and fighter pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force, and 3 years as a program manager/business director with Spar Aerospace, Canada.

Lee has a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada and is a graduate of the Empire Tests Pilots’ School, U.K.
